This competition is a money-making scam. Deadlines are pushed back until they publicize the competition enough to make the money they’d hoped to make: the 2022 competition pushed its deadline back by MONTHS so that it lasted almost an entire year. By the end, they had 500 applicants, each paying around $75 fees. Pop, classical, ensemble, all mixed together. When these problems are pointed out, customer service is downright rude. This is a total sham.
This competition will push back deadlines until it gets 500 applicants, but it will not let you know the odds of winning are 1:500 at any point in time. With steep fees and ages/categories mixed together, this is a non-professional, non-prestigious, money-making scam. Don’t waste your time and money.
