The Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON) in collaboration MTN Foundation (MTNF) has announced the opening of application for the 2020/2021 MTNF/MUSON Diploma programme.

The announcement of commencement of application for the next academic year will be the 15th set of the MTNF/MUSON Diploma Course.

Application Process for MTNF/MUSON 2020/2021

1. Qualifying Examination

All applicants are expected to take part and pass a qualifying examination. The qualifying examination for shortlisted candidates will take place from September 21^st to September 23rd 2020. The examination will be in three parts;

a. Written Examination

All applicants will be expected to take part in a written examination in Music Theory at appropriately Grade 5 standard and general music knowledge.

b. Audition

Candidates will take part in a grade 5 standard audition on a major musical instrument or voice before a Faculty Jury.

c. An aural interview

Admission Requirements for MTNF/MUSON Diploma

All applicants are expected to possess a minimum academic qualification of GCE with at least 5 credit passes including English or its SSCE equivalent. In addition to this admission requirement, all candidates must possess a Grade 5 or higher pass certificate of MUSON or any other recognized music examining body.

For candidates without the MUSON or any recognized examining body certificate, MUSON may consider such candidates for admission if he/she possesses outstanding practical ability in the opinion of the jury, but such candidate must enroll in MUSON remedial course in their first year to meet the requirement if accepted.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE FOR MTNF/MUSON DIPLOMA 2020/2021

Registration for the MTNF/MUSON Diploma Course 2020/2021 is now open. Application will close on September 7th 2020.

Shortlisted applicants will be notified by September 14 2020 and invited for the three-prong qualifying examination stage.

Applicants for the 2020/2021 MTNF/MUSON Diploma course can apply online. Applicants are also expected to submit send SCANNED WRITTEN APPLICATION LETTER & COPIES OF CERTIFICATES to the Director of School at school@muson.org

The MUSON Diploma Course is a 2year full time programme run by the MUSON School of Music and fully sponsored by MTN Foundation. MTN Foundation has taken the MUSON Diploma course as one of its nationwide projects and remains the one of the driving forces . The course offers students advanced training in music with the following majors; Piano, Organ, Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Percussion, Classical Guitar, Voice.

The Diploma School is the home of the award-winning MUSON Diploma Choir directed by Sir Emeka Nwokedi and the MUSON School Orchestra & Concert Bands. The school has graduated over 300 students since 2008.
