The Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON) has announced application for MTNF MUSON Diploma program for 2021/2022 academic year.

The call for entry into the 2 year full time course of the MUSON Diploma program was announced on Monday 2nd August 2021. This would be the 16th set of the MTNF-sponsored MUSON Diploma program. The annual Diploma program is fully funded by the MTN Foundation (MTNF).

HOW TO APPLY FOR MUSON DIPLOMA 2021/2022 ACADEMIC YEAR

Suitable qualified applicants are expected to send their application for MTNF MUSON Diploma 2021/2022 through a cover letter with copies of certificates addressed to the Director School of Music to school@muson.org. Applicants are also expected to fill out the online application form.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT FOR APPLICATION FOR MTNF MUSON DIPLOMA 2021/2022

Applicants for the MTN/MUSON Diploma Course in Music are expected to possess the following minimum academic requirements:

• The General Certificate of Education (GCE) ordinary level with credits in at least five (5) subjects including English language.

OR

• The Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) with credits in at least 5 subjects including English language.

Other Requirements

• PRACTICAL: Grade five (5) or higher pass certificate of the MUSON School of Music or any other music examining body recognized by the MUSON School such as ABRSM or Trinity.
• THEORY: Grade five (5) or higher pass certificate of the MUSON School of Music or any other music examining body recognized by the MUSON SCHOOL.

NOTE: Applicants who possess the above Practical or Theory certificates must also satisfy the GCE (O/L) or SSCE requirements.
Interested applicants who are deficient in the theory requirements but display an outstanding practical ability in the opinion of the Faculty/Jury may be considered for admission but must enroll in the remedial theory course to meet the necessary standard by the end of the first year.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE FOR MTNF/MUSON DIPLOMA 2021/2022

The Application for MTNF MUSON Diploma 2020/2021 is open and will close on August 22nd 2021.

Shortlisted applicants will be notified by September 14 2020 and invited for the three-prong qualifying examination stage.

Application Process for MTNF MUSON Diploma 2021/2022

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for a three-prong qualifying examination which will take place from September 6 – 8, 2021 and will consist of:

• A written examination in Music Theory at appropriately grade 5 standard and general music knowledge.
• An audition on a major instrument or voice of at least grade 5 standard before a faculty or jury.
• An aural interview.
