Is that going to hold this year?
Bravo to the Catholic Church in Nigeria. I love this encouraging initiative. The mother Church is growing in geometrical progression here in Nigeria for the edification of the Universal Church to the glory of God. As a Catholic Choirmaster and a Liturgical music writer and a gospel music writer and artist, I’m highly interested in this laudable initiative. I’m compelled willingly to go into gospel music as a matter of neccesity especially now that gospel band music is allowed in Catholic liturgical celebration and Catholic spirituality vis-a-vis music and singing. Most gospel songs produced so far lack the appropriate words for Divine worship. For any piece of music to be worthy of Divine worship, it must recorganise, respect and express the Divinity, Supremacy and infinite nature of God. You observe that most gospel music composers are non Catholics and thus have little or no idea of theology. It is now a great challenge to Catholic Liturgical music writers to also involve in writing gospel and worship songs. Once again, bravo.
