Sound Sultan

News coming confirmed that the legendary multitalented Nigerian singer, rapper and songwriter, Olanrewaju Fasasi aka Sound Sultan is dead.

The news of the demise of Sound Sultan, who have dedicated more than 20 years of his life to the Nigerian music industry, was confirmed in a statement signed by Dr. Kayode Fasasi on behalf of the Fasasi family. The statement read, “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our multitalented veteran singer, rapper, songwriter Olanrewaju Fasasi aka Sound Sultan. “He passed away at the age of 44 following a hard-fought battle with Angioimmunoblastic T-Cell Lymphoma. “He is survived by his wife, three children and his siblings. “We, his family will appreciate the utmost privacy as we come to grips with this tragic loss.”

You would recall that in May 2021, news came in that the singer was diagnosed with throat cancer. Sound Sultan died at age 44. The announcement of his dead is a shock to the Nigerian music industry as Sound Sultan is considered one of the key pioneers of modern contemporary Nigerian music.

As we all mourn the death of Sound Sultan, Music Estate celebrate his life and contribution to the Nigerian music. Naija Ninja forever!
